THANK YOU FROM

BUDDY BACKPACK!!

With the school year coming to a close, volunteers take

a little break from collecting cereals for the project, and packing the bags and delivering them to the schools.

Buddy Backpack has finished another year serving children from Buies Creek Elementary, Lafayette Elementary, Angier Elementary and North Harnett Elementary Schools who have food insecurities on the weekends.

You have been a faithful congregation in contributing your monetary gifts, cereals, and time. Without your contributions, this project would not be successful. Buies Creek School had 23 children receiving 13 items of food each week for the weekend, individual cereal being 1 of the 13 items. Those volunteers who committed to meeting in Angier, on Friday mornings, usually, and bagging up the items and delivering to Buies Creek School were:

Debbie Appel, Gail Cogdill, Linda Lunney, Cathy McLamb, Lisa Spainhour, Barbara Taylor, Alice Thomas, and Martha Womble.

Heartfelt thanks to each one of you who have made this another great year to serve children who are in need.

Appalachian Christmas Outreach

We have 24 backpacks to fill by Christmas, so we would like to collect items each month to fill the bags.

For the month of June, we are collecting Full Sized Toothpaste AND

'Fun Item' (substitution for a toy) for the oldest age group (15-17 year old's).

'Fun Item' examples are --

for boys: flashlight, small thermos, light blanket, earbuds, small tool kit, fishing gear, books, hunting/fishing/sports magazines;

for girls: jewelry, books, earbuds, skin care products, small travel sized hair dryer, hair accessories, etc.

Please deliver to the church office during the week or place in the basket provided in the narthex on Sunday mornings.

Saturday, June 25th

9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Volunteers are welcome to come help set up or tear down.
